De Neuville’s Egg Box produced by Karbest and Stora Enso has scooped top place in the Pro Carton 2016 Confectionery category held in partnership with ECMA (European Carton Manufacturers Association).

De Neuville did not want any plastic packaging in the design and asked that the silhouette shape of the carton resembled an Easter Egg.

The Christmas House can be unfolded in the middle for children to play with, made from a single piece of cartonboard whereas the carton in the shape of the Eiffel Tower has led to an increase in sales thanks to its ‘magnificent cold foil finish, filled from the bottom and then closed, with a string handle for carrying’.

This year was the 20th anniversary of the Pro Carton Awards, held in Cannes. The awards were divided into seven categories as well as three major awards: ‘Carton of the Year’, ‘Most Innovative’ and ‘Sustainability’.

The certificates and trophies were presented by Roland Rex, president, Pro Carton and Dr. Andreas Blaschke, president, ECMA.
