Wrigley has introduced Extra Professional Mints containing stevia rebaudiana across Europe, marking the first time it has used stevia in a product globally.

The company launched the product in Classic Mint and Forest Fruit flavors, available as a bottle (70 mints) or carton box (20 mints).

“…In Germany recent studies show that the demand for stevia sweetened products is high, therefore this was the right step for us,” a Wrigley Germany spokesperson told ConfectioneryNews.

“Wrigley is the first major brand manufacturer to introduce mints sweetened with steviol glycoside - taking a pioneering role in the German marketplace.”

“…In Germany, we decided to communicate the new formula both on pack and in our advertising.”

The spokesperson added that these were Wrigley’s very first products to be sweetened with steviol glycoside.

The Extra Professional Mints use steviol glycoside from stevia rebaudiana in combination with other sweeteners. The products will be sold in 20 European markets.
