United Biscuits boss to step down
United Biscuits CEO Martin Glenn will leave the company to join the English Football Association and will be replaced by the boss of UB’s international business Jeff van der Eems.
Van der Eems has worked for UB for over a decade in various senior roles including as CFO and COO. He will take over from Glenn in early April.
“The business is in a strong position to continue to grow both at home and abroad, especially with the support now provided by Yıldız Holding,” he said.
Turkish food group Yildiz Holding acquired McVitie’s brand owner United Biscuits for a reported $3bn in November last year from private equity owners Blackstone and PAI Partners
Current UB boss Martin Glenn previously worked at Pepsico and was renowned for being the one to introduce former England footballer Gary Lineker as the face of Walkers crisps. He will join the English FA as its CEO.
