Barry Callebaut gourmet brand to use only sustainable cocoa

Barry Callebaut has announced that its gourmet brand Finest Belgian Chocolate will now only use cocoa from sustainable sources.

Callebaut’s Finest Belgian Chocolate brand is designed for use in artisanal chocolates.

“More and more consumers want to know where their food comes from. They are interested in and eager to find out the story behind the products they buy,” said the company in its release.

Callebaut’s drive for sustainable cocoa forms part of its ‘Growing Great Chocolate’ campaign that encourages manufacturers and food professionals to communicate sustainable sourcing to customers.

The Finest Belgian Chocolate began using sustainable cocoa on Tuesday.
