Anderson’s departure opens up an opportunity to evolve the CMO role as part of Mondelēz’s larger marketing reinvention for its global power brands, including Oreo, belVita, Milka, Cadbury and Trident, the snack giant said in a release.

“Our search for a successor will focus on finding a digital-first, disruptive and innovative leader who can build on Dana’s legacy and mobilize breakthrough marketing in a rapidly changing global consumer landscape,” Mondelēz’s recently-hired chief growth officer, Tim Cofer, said.

The Wall Street Journal reported Anderson’s departure came weeks after Mondelēz’s former VP and head of global media, Bob Rupczynski, left for the role of head of media and customer relationships at McDonald’s.

In addition, Mondelēz named Stefania Gvillo as its new global head of strategic insights, and Jay Gouliard as its global head of packaging.

Gvillo worked at PepsiCo as VP of portfolio strategy and consumer insights prior to joining Mondelēz, while Gouliard has previously worked at multiple major CPG firms’ packaging division, including Coca-Cola, General Mills and Unilever, according to their LinkedIn profiles.

Mondelēz has experienced a struggling year with its full-year 2016 net revenue declining by 12.5%, ConfectioneryNew previously reported. The company will announce its Q1 results on May 2, 2017.

“He will also be responsible for the direction and success of cross-functional teams made up of consumer insights, marketing, R&D, packaging, and design,” ConAgra added.
