The package, which was first introduced in 2012, contains a six-ounce assortment of four flavors of Torie & Howard’s hard candy.
“I see organics and natural ingredients reshaping the industry,” the company’s co-founder Torie Burke told ConfectioneryNews. “Consumers are knowledgeable today, and that knowledge is building. Therefore, demand is increasing to the point where confectioners cannot afford to ignore the plea and potential ultimatum from customers.”
Torie & Howard’s candies are USDA certified organic and don’t contain genetically modified ingredients, preservatives, artificial dyes or flavours.
The handbag pack is already in other retail stores nationally and internationally in specialty grocers, gift shops, casinos and department stores.
The handbags carry a suggested retail price of $7.99.
