Judges of the 2014 Most Innovative New Product Awards sorted through nearly 300 tasty treats to come up with the products they deem the best of the best.
The annual awards program takes place at the Sweets and Snacks Expo, the annual conference and exposition produced by the National Confectioners Association. Food trends expert Phil Lembert told ConfectioneryNews the judging panel (consisting of chefs, industry analysts, dieticians, merchandising experts, retail leaders, and other professionals) had “a very flavorful experience” tasting and discussing more than 280 nominated products.
That elite field was whittled down to the top products in each of 10 categories, based on taste, innovation, sales potential, and packaging design. Here are the winners in this year’s Most Innovative New Products competition.
