Retailers have voted for the new confectionery products that have the best go-to-market potential in the US.
The winners of the Most Innovative New Product Awards were announced at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago yesterday.
A panel featuring trade media, food industry experts and retailers selected five nominations in eight confectionery categories:
• Non-chocolate (including gum & mints)
• Novelty/Licensed (candy & snacks)
• Gourmet/Premium (candy & snacks)
• Seasonal (candy & snacks)
• Salty snacks
• Sweet snacks
• Savory snacks
Retailers and wholesalers attending the Expo then judged the products, which were displayed in the New Product Showcase, and cast the final vote based on packaging design, taste, innovation and saleability.
The winners were announced yesterday.
