Confectionery giant Mars has announced its successful acquisition of chewing gum company Wrigley after Wrigley stockholders announced the sale on 23rd September.

All shares of Wrigley common stock and Class B common stock are being purchased for $80 cash each, or a total of around $23 billion. Wrigley will operate as a separate business segment of Mars and will take over Mars’ non-chocolate confectionery sugar brands, which includes such brands as Skittles, Starburst and Tunes.
