Confectioner Nestlé UK has turned to Innovia Films for a new wrapper for its Quality Street chocolates.
Nestlé initially approached Innovia to develop a new wrapping as part of its move to reduce packaging and use more sustainable materials.
NatureFlex, Innovia’s renewable and compostable packaging film, is similar in appearance to the coloured cellophane wrapping with which it previously supplied Nestlé.
The film is cellulose-based and derived from wood pulp. It breaks down in a compost bin within a few weeks.
