Tangerine tests edible advertising

As the Sherbet Fountain sweet brand continues to hit headlines in the UK with a switch from a paper sleeve to plastic tube packaging, its manufacturer is hoping a new edible advertisement will offer a taste of the future.

A redesign of the confectionery’s packaging sparked 'pro' and 'against' column inches and air time across the UK in recent weeks, leading Pelican PR on Tuesday to roll out a 2.5 billboard on the streets of London offering free samples of the revamped product.

Available in UK sweet shops since 1925, in January 2008 Tangerine Confectionery acquired the brand following its acquisition of Monkhill Confectionery from Cadbury Schweppes for £58m (€64.8m).
