Xan Confections is voluntarily recalling 13 gourmet peanut butter chocolate products over fears of salmonella contamination.
The voluntary recall was issued after the firm’s supplier, Sunland, Inc., recalled its entire peanut butter product from May to late September.
Xan fears its products distributed from 28 May 28, 2012 to 28 September 28, 2012 at retail locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana and Nova Scotia, Canada, could be contaminated.
Susan Johnson, CEO of Xan Confections said: “Upon learning of Sunland’s voluntary recall of peanut butter products that our company uses, we immediately notified our customers.”
No illnesses from Xan products have been reported to date.
