Ferrero UK adds to flavor-changing Tic Tac range and brings Nutella into biscuits

Ferrero will introduce a new flavor variant of Tic Tac Mixers, Hello Kitty and Hot Wheels-branded Kinder Surprise eggs, and will bring biscuit brand Nutella B-Ready to the UK market.

The company announced the launches on its website for UK retailers​ yesterday.

Flavor-changing Tic Tacs

The confectioner’s UK business will add a Coconut to Pineapple variant to its flavor changing Tic Tac Mixers range from September in a 18 g pack (£0.62/$0.80) and a 49 g pack (£1.41/$1.82).

The flavor will replace Peach to Lemonade, while Cherry to Cola will remain in market.

The company launched Tic Tac Mixers to the UK in 2015. The brand posted sales of £3.9m ($5m) for the 52 weeks up to July 15 this year, growing +7.5% year-on-year.

The overall Tic Tac brand in the UK posted sales of £25.2m ($32.5m) over the same period, according to Nielsen.

Nutella to the biscuits category

Ferrero will also bring Nutella to the biscuits category for the first time in UK by launching Nutella B-Ready in September.

The SKU – initially launched in Italy in 2015 – will enjoy £2.8m ($3.6m) in marketing support for its UK introduction. The product is already available in Ferrero’s other international markets.

A single-serve Nutella B-Ready bar will retail for a suggested price of £0.56 ($0.72) and £1.99 ($2.57) for a multipack of six in the UK.

Kinder Surprise: Hello Kitty and Hot Wheels

The Italian confectioner will also expand its Kinder Surprise range in the UK with Hello Kitty and Hot Wheels eggs under Sanrio Ltd and Mattel licenses.

The eggs will launch in September for a recommended retail price of £0.92 ($1.19) for a 20 g egg and £2.38 ($3.07) for a three-pack multipack.

Ferrero’s Kinder brand posted £62m ($80m) in sales for the 52 weeks ending July 8 this year, according to Nielsen data.

The company announced earlier this year it intends to launch Kinder Joy eggs and Tic Tac gum​ in the US in 2018.
