Mars Incorporated’s commitment to research into cocoa flavanols has been rewarded recently with an annual award from the Institute of Food Technologists.

Mars’ research into the plant nutrient increasingly hailed as the new ‘super ingredient’, has revealed varying health benefits such as improved brain functioning for elderly subjects with mild cognitive impairment and increased population of helpful bacteria in the intestine indicating possible prebiotic benefits.
