Two different new bag making machines have been released on the
market, one designed to produce large bags at high speed, while the
otheris targeted at dry and frozen food manufacturers.

Bosch Food's US subsidiary said the SVE3800WR was designed to answer market demand for larger size bags in high volumes for a variety of markets, including those with retail and institutional clients. The second machine, the SVE2510, also addresses broad market needs for the medium to high speed bagging of dry or frozen foods.

The new machines are form, fill and seal systems with servo software. Both have Bosch Rexroth and Allen Bradley based controls. They can be used for bagging a wide range of food, confectionery and other products.

"In designing the two bag makers, Bosch Food USA combined high-speed, continuous motion servo technology with state-of-the-art systems and components in order to leverage functionality while providing simplicity of design for end-users," said Jim Connors, thecompany's US director of sales and marketing.

The SVE3800WR features Allen Bradley controls capable of running pillow, gusseted flat bottom, quad seal, and doy packaging, atspeeds of up to 120 bags per minute, claims the company. The machine addresses manufacturers' needs for larger bag sizes of 380 mm (15 inches) for bakery, frozen vegetables and other free-flowingproducts, the company said.

Meanwhile the SVE2510 delivers up to 200 stand-up, pillow, or gusseted flat bottom bags per minute using a vertical form, fill and seal system, the company claimed. The bagger can handle imprinted or non-imprinted heat-sealable polyethylene materials.

The SVE2510 has a simplified operator interface for easier maintenance and can be integrated with a wide variety of filling systems such as weighers, augers, volumetric fillers, counters and other custom-designed infeed systems, the company said.

The Allen Bradley control system for both machines uses an integrated controller for motion and a Windows XP-based operator station with a full-color touch screen. This provides real time support and enhanced diagnostics capabilities including remote access and integration in Ethernet networks and data acquisition systems, the manufacturer said.
