UK premium chocolate firm Montezuma’s will be stocked in the US for the first time after it signed a deal with food store chain Trader Joe’s.

The company will ship 20,000 Grand Collection boxes to the US for distribution in Trader Joe’s 400-plus stores over the Christmas period.

“This is a significant international deal for us and we are excited to be introducing our products to the American market,” said Montezuma’s co-founder Helen Pattinson in a release.

“We are particularly pleased to be working with Trader Joe’s as its ethical stance and overarching ethos is very akin to our own; we both strive to ensure that we offer innovative and interesting products to customers.”

West Sussex-based Montezuma’s was founded in 2000 and sells its range of bars and truffles in London and the South East of England through luxury retailers such as Waitrose, John Lewis and Selfridges.
