UK confectionery group Tangerine, is employing new methods to boost
sales of its luxury fudge and chocolate line ahead of the Christmas
period.

The company is set to run sampling sessions this weekend in collaboration with the retailer giant Woolworths.

Tangerine hope that, by giving consumers a taster of its luxury indulgence line, Anthon Berg, it will gain the edge over competitors in the run-up to seasonal spending.

Among the flavours to be rolled out across 15 Woolworths stores in the North of England and London for the sampling will be Anthon Berg Rémy Martin handmade liquor fudge and marzipan and fruit chocolates..

The Christmas fudge range consists of black and gold boxes containing six, individually wrapped cognac-flavoured fudge and sold in Woolworths and other retailers for £3.99 (€5.89).

Included in the dark chocolate range are cherry in rum, plum in Madeira, apricot in brandy, grape in muscat and strawberry in champagne flavours.

They are also individually wrapped and are priced £4.99 (€7.37) for six packs.

Anthon Berg fudge is produced in the UK while the chocolate line is manufactured at the brand's headquarters in Denmark.

In January this year, Tangerine acquired the UK branch of Danish confectionery firm Toms, who produce the Anthon line, allowing it to gain a greater foothold in the domestic market.
