Treofan creates matte effect film for potato chips, cookies & chocolate

BOPP specialist Treofan has created a matte film effect for potato chips, cookies and chocolate in response to consumer demand for retro-look packaging.

The GPR 20 packaging film combines multi-layer printing and sealing properties.

Jürgen Schischko, head of technical service, Treofan, said market demand for packaging with a ‘retro’ look is growing disproportionately in many different areas, from snacks to cosmetics.

Our GPR 20 brings benefits all round in terms of its look, feel and processing. The product is another testament to Treofan’s transformation into a supplier of film surface technologies​,” he added.

He said the film is ‘dimensionally stable’ during the printing process due to its mechanical properties, allowing it to be processed more quickly.

Also, the film’s surface and sealing properties are tailored to each other during the packaging process and the exterior of the substrate has a ‘specially developed surface’ to create a striking matte effect.
