New erector can improve confectionery packing performance

A new high-speed case packer and erector can pack up to 100 cases of products a minute, according to the manufacturers.

The Versapack can fit into existing hand packing spaces within factories, and can be used in the snacks, confectionery, ready-meals and healthcare sectors, the manufacturers said this week.

 

 

 

This could replace standard hand packaging within confectionery factories, to save time and labour costs.

 

 

 

"Operators are only required for topping-up the machine's hopper with her flat cases. As a result, most lines will pay for themselves within about 12 months," said Mike Webb, managing director of Quin Systems.

 

 

 

The machine has been designed by Quin Systems and Endoline in order to be the first machine to successfully combine both erecting and loading, the companies claim.

 

 

 

Endoline managing director Tony Hacker: "Bringing the functions of case erection and packing into one compact footprint has created one very fast machine. In fact we believe it's the smallest, fastest machine of its type on the market today."

 

 

 

The manufacturers claim there are a variety of options available to make the machine flexible in various layouts, including straight in-line, 90-degree to reverse case flow.

 

 

 

The Versapack is marketed within the UK, although is available worldwide.
