KitKat promotion withdrawn from Tesco

Nestle has reason to believe that small metal particles may be present in two batches of it's Kit Kash promotional KitKats, sold in UK retailer Tesco, resulting in a product recall.

The confectioner said that although it is highly unlikely consumers have purchased any of the affected products, in the interest of safety; it was necessary to take this precautionary action.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) revealed in the food alert that the potential contamination had been caused by faulty production equipment.

 

Nestle UK told ConfectioneryNews.com that this is an isolated incident, which is being fully investigated, and only affects the two batches sold at Tesco in the UK.

 

The manufacturer and retailer are working together to ensure affected packs are taken off the shelves and consumers who purchased the Kit Kash promotional packs from retailers other than Tesco are advised that these products are perfectly safe to eat.
