UK-based ice cream equipment specialist One-Shot has unveiled its most recent innovation - a system that delivers soft serve ice cream in 250ml portions.
The company believes that the development will go some way to meeting the ever-increasing demand for soft serve ice cream in Europe.
The manufacturer, part of the McGill Technology Group, also claims that retailers will benefit from the larger portion sizes through bigger profits.
The One-Shot system consists of a smart container that is prepacked and sealed at the ice cream dairy, and a dispenser which forces the ice cream through an extrusion hole in the bottom of the container.
Hundreds of systems were recently launched in Greece under the brand name Over, and extensive systems sales are projected across the continent for 2003.One-Shot's forays into the European market follow the company's success in Japan.
There are currently 20,000 dispensers in use across the country and machines are being installed at the rate of 1,000 a month, the company claimed.
