Two new shrinkable sleeve labelling systems can handle a variety of
container shapes with tool-less changeovers, its manufacturer

Axon, a division of Pro Mach, claims its EZ-Seal 200SL and 400SL shrinkable sleeve labelling systems are designed for use in a variety of industries including food, beverage, dairy, water. Labelling systems that can handle various container shapes enable packagers to purchase and use one machine as opposed to many. Tool-less changeovers are beneficial as they tend to be quicker than those using tools. The EZ-Seal 200SL is suitable for use in contract packaging and blow moulding facilities due to its low price and ability to handle multiple container shapes, the manufacturer claims. The 200SL can process about 200 tamper-evident bands and full-body sleeves per minute, while the 400SL operates at about 400 per minute, claims the company. George Albrecht, Axon's vice president of sales, said both provided a technologically superior film delivery system that adjusts to a large number of container shapes. "The systems' abilities to accommodate tool-less changeovers between sizes gives customers maximum flexibility," he said. The systems support labels with diameters ranging from 2.5cm to 10cm (1inch to 4inches). The labellers also feature Allen-Bradley controls, corrosion resistant construction, and stepper/servo film feeding and cutting systems. US-based Axon manufacturers a range of heat shrinkable sleeve labeling systems, as well as other integrated packaging products and services.
