Mars scientists are among the speakers at a conference later this month in Brussels to discuss breakthroughs linking cocoa flavanols to cardiovascular health.

Catherine Kwik-Uribe and Hagen Schroeter will present their research at the ‘International Workshop on Flavanols in Cardiovascular Health’​ due to take place In Brussels, Belgium, on 24 January.

The conference forms part of Project Flaviola​, a pan-European research project aiming to uncover the effect of flavanol-containing foods on cardiovascular function.

The project is funded under the seventh framework programme of the European Commission and brings together industry players, doctors and food scientists.
