New York-based firm Comax Flavors has unveiled four key flavor trends it predicts could gain traction in 2014.

Fresh focusedflavors​ are designed to make consumers feel good about their food choices and add a healthy halo to snack foods, beverages, juices, bars and dips.   

•       Coconut lime
•       Lemon garlic pepper
•       Carrot watermelon
•       Pineapple cucumber

Sultry sweet flavors​ combine two or more sweet and/or savory flavors.   

•       Cola cappuccino nut
•       Marshmallow macadamia crunch
•       Ginger sesame caramel
•       Maple bourbon banana

Some like it hot flavors​ offer heat with a brisk sweet note and will show up in savory chips, sweets, confections, dips, sauces, beers and beverages.
