Mondelēz International’s UK business hopes to grow seasonal sales with a union of its leading brands. The company has launched a Cadbury Dairy Milk with Oreo Easter egg. It also has high hopes for its Marvellous Creations Egg, launched last year.
Tony Bilsborough, Head of UK External Comms at Mondelez International., said: “For chocolate manufacturers, Easter is very often a mix of the traditional and the innovative. This Easter is no different and we expect to see the best-selling eggs drawn from some of our old favourites….Last year, our brand new Marvellous Creations Egg was the third best-selling egg in the UK which demonstrates that the public love their tradition but are always open to something new too.”
He continued: “These days, retailers are offering incredible deals on Easter Eggs and they’ve never been more affordable. Last year, the British public cracked open more than 80m shell eggs and we don’t expect 2015 will be any different. As Mondelēz International has around 50% of the UK market, it’s obviously great to see that the love affair with Easter Eggs continues.”
