Nuts and spices issue still active
August - Belgium: Following a notification via the RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed), the presence of almonds has been detected in two products without mentioning it on the label, according to AFSCA (Agence fédérale pour la sécurité de la chaîne alimentaire).
Almonds were detected in the ground nutmeg brand NEW MARBEL without being mentioned on the label. Lot number E140367, weight 100g in clear plastic packaging on sale from 28/10/2014 was one item affected.
The presence of nuts (almonds) was also found in ground nutmeg and cinnamon with the brand FAVORIM without being mentioned on the label.
Turkfood Impex has withdrawn Noix de muscade moulue 'ground nutmeg' lot number 150 029 and 50g and Cannelle moulue 'ground cinnamon' lot number 150250 100g due to the findings.
