Jumbo's 'whole-grain' crispbread
Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo has made the cut with its ‘Whole-Grain Crispbread’ which contains just 41% whole grain flour and only a third of the fibres in 100% whole grain products.
Jumbo’s crispbread contains just enough whole-grain flour to appear 100% but according to Foodwatch some white bread manufacturers dye white breads with brown food colouring.
Trading standards in the Netherlands require whole-grain bread to be made with 100% whole-grain flour but since the 'Knackerbröd' is not technically bread but crisp-bread, it is exempt from this regulation.
