Melissa Snover, managing director of Magic Candy Factory, told ConfectioneryNews the attraction will be one of the largest theme parks in the world.

“The indoor theme park is literally being built as we speak,” she said.
“There will be an official launch in the New Year but I can’t give away too many details right now.
“What I can say is we will have multiple 3D candy printers in different parts of the park with various themes.
“It is the first time a customized 3D printer has been available in a theme park where customers can design their own candy, watch it being printed and then take it away with them.”
Magic Candy Factory has had a busy year, winning three awards alone this month including; Start-Up Entrepereneur of the Year at the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards; BQ's ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year’ for the Midlands and Technological Innovation of the Year, at the National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) awards.
The company is now preparing for Christmas and has partnered with John Lewis to launch its 3D candy printers across several of its department stores including its flagship branch in Oxford Street, London, Cheadle, Liverpool, Bristol, Cambridge, High Wycombe and South Hampton.
“We have a wall of six 3D printers in the John Lewis Oxford Street store where customers can make their own customized candy creations including edible greetings cards, and ornaments for the Christmas tree,” said Snover.
“We have also launched a Festive Fizz Prosecco flavour candy for making snowflakes.”
Looking ahead the company is launching its 3D printers across a number of global locations in the next six months including; Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Singapore and is expanding its business in Italy.
“The Middle East is a great location for us a lot of the population don’t eat pork gelatin, many expats live abroad there, there are a lot of tourists, customization is important to consumers and our printer seems to fit the demographic very well there,” added Snover.
“We already have several locations in Dubai for example with Candylicious Candy Store in Dubai Mall who organise workshops creating customized candy with children.”
The Magic Candy Factory already has a location in Naples and is now working with a department store in Italy to expand into Milan, and then Rome.
It is also installing a 3D printer in a store in Las Vegas in December but the launch for the store opening in in the New Year.
“We are delighted to announce we are also partnering with Hong Kong airport to launch two 3D printers to create customized candy gifts for people when they are travelling from mid-February,” said Snover.
The Magic Candy Factory will be debuting its latest technology at ISM 2018 sweets and snacks tradeshow in Cologne, Germany from January 28-31, 2018.
