The largest consumer survey of product innovation recognizes new Butterfinger on day of relaunch.

Ferrara’s Butterfinger has been recognized at the 2019 Product of the Year (PoY) awards show for product innovation in the Candy Bar category.

PoY is the world's largest consumer-voted award for quality and product innovation, and was based on the results of a national online survey of 40,000 consumers conducted by Kantar, a global leader in consumer research.

One product winner is selected in various categories including confections, candy, baking, snacking and more.

The recognition comes after Butterfinger announced a new and improved recipe for the candy bar last year, which now includes carefully-selected US-grown peanuts and a rich chocolatey coating, as well as a double-layer, higher-quality packaging material to lock in the Butterfinger flavor.

Butterfinger is part of the portfolio of brands by Ferrero, the confectionery company known also for Ferrero Rocher, Nutella, Tic Tac and Kinder Joy.

Ferrara will launch the new, improved Butterfinger brand with a national campaign kicking off today (Monday, February 11).

The complete list of winning products of the 2019 Product of the Year Award is now available on productoftheyearusa.com. Consumers can follow the conversation on social media using the hashtag #POYUSA2019 on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

No Butterfinger

Posted by Ronald B Money,

I cannot understand how this company can call this "new" candy a Butterfinger. I tried it and I cannot stand the taste. They have created a new candy, but it is NOT an improved Butterfinger recipe. I have been eating Butterfingers since the mid 1950's and ALWAYS LOVED them!! This "new candy" doesn't taste anything like the original Butterfinger and I think anyone that loves Butterfingers as much as I do will TOTALLY agree. The only thing resembling a Butterfinger on this " new candy" is the wrapper!!! Butterfinger is probably gone forever and that is sad.
