The reformulated recipes include the replacement of fructose heavy agave syrup with coconut blossom sugar, which boasts a higher level of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients.
Launched in 2004 by founder and recipe developer, Emma Jackman, Conscious Chocolate was the original raw chocolate on the market and has developed a succession of flavours including Orange & Tangerine, Peppermint and Love Potion No.9.
Conscious Chocolate bars have also been resized from 50g to 60g, with compostable packaging and film and will maintain their original price points.
ConfectioneryNews reported in August last year, the artisan chocolatier agreed to a merger with The Raw Chocolate Co, after it ceased trading due to ‘deepening losses’.
“We looked at different ways of working together – and we love the brand, the company and the product,” Jackman said at the time.
Administrators David Rubin & Partners and Buchler Phillips were appointed joint administrators of Conscious Chocolate on August 9, 2018.
