Company’s new line aims at ‘redefining taste’ with a smooth, rich dark chocolate, which is also dairy-free and vegan-friendly.

UK premium chocolate brand Firetree launches a new single-estate, volcanic chocolate this week, after a successful debut at the Taste of London food fair.

With cocoa beans sourced from the so-called ‘Pacific Ring of Fire’, where the world's most active volcanoes lie in the Pacific Ocean, and also Madagascar, the natural range is made up of seven 65g bars and contains no additives or flavorings, says Firetree.

The terroir of the remote, volcanic islands is uniquely rich, porous, volcanic soil where the firetree, or cocoa tree, thrives producing beans of the highest caliber.

Firetree says it works closely and directly with its farmers to ensure the best, sustainable agricultural practice. It takes social responsibility seriously to ensure the farmers are paid a significant premium, appropriate to the quality of the beans, necessary to support their families and invest in their business.

Founder and managing director, David Zulman said: “The cocoa beans are from far-flung Pacific islands and Madagascar, and the chocolate is dairy free and vegan friendly. We've put great effort into redefining, enhancing, and bending the conventional taste as we know it, and creating a smooth, rich and unique tasting experience, which is distinct in its depth and complexity.”
