In the third panel discussion, a group of industry leaders will discuss how companies can change to better serve their local communities, and how the chocolate industry on a whole can change for the better.
Panellists include: Shelley Bolton, co-founder of East Van Roasters (Vancouver, BC); Greg D'Alesandre, co-owner of Dandelion Chocolate (San Francisco, California); Anjuli Darna, sales director of Uncommon Cacao (Berkeley, California); Gillian Goddard, owner of Sun Eaters Organics (St Joseph, Trinidad and Tobago); and William Mullan, marketing director of Raaka Chocolate (Brooklyn, New York).
Giller, a food writer and the author of the award-winning book Bean-to-Bar Chocolate: America’s Craft Chocolate Revolution, said: “Our country is having an important conversation about race and privilege, and it's made many of us think more deeply about the ways in which the craft chocolate industry contributes to that larger ecosystem.”
Attendance is free, with a suggested donation of $10 for each event to one of the following organizations: NAACP; Family Focus (where Noir d'Ebene's kitchen is located) and The Okra Project.
