FACHPACK, the trade fair for packaging, technology and processes, is set open its doors from September 27 to 29 at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, under the banner ‘Transition in Packaging’.

FACHPACK, known as a trailblazing event and source of inspiration for the packaging industry,  will attract more than 1,000 exhibitors this year who will present their innovative products and solutions for the future in nine exhibition halls.

The Schur Flexibles Group brings together specialised companies from the flexible packaging segment from all over Europe and has also established itself as a partner for small and medium-sized companies including from the confectionery segment.

Schur Flexibles' research and development team is currently focusing intensively on replacing materials in confectionery packaging that are based on aluminium or consist of combinations of materials that are difficult to separate.

Among other things, the Group is focusing on recyclable solutions made from polyethylene as well as renewable raw materials, primarily paper, which are provided with appropriate coatings.

During FachPack 2022, the packaging specialist will provide insights into innovative sustainable solutions, for sweets and other confectionery products, and unveil its new corporate direction.

One of the biggest challenges in the market is the lack of clear and consistent specifications regarding the future recycling of packaging - there are still country-specific, different recycling streams and cycles. With its broad positioning, Schur Flexibles said it considers itself well equipped to respond to a wide range of specifications.

"We stand by our customers as a strong partner. Small and medium-sized companies in particular need support when the highly innovative, sustainable materials are to be implemented on existing packaging layouts that were not originally intended for this purpose. Here we can provide valuable assistance with specialised know-how and technical support," said Juan Luís Martínez Arteaga, CEO of the Schur Flexibles Group.
