The global snacking company has become the first FMCG business in the UK and Ireland to receive a prestigious Investor in Sales Award from the Association of Professional Sales (APS).

In an industry first, pladis’ field-sales team completed the APS professional registration exam, with an impressive 75% pass rate.

pladis, whose portfolio includes brands such as McVitie’s, Jacob’s, Carr’s and Flipz, says the achievement adds to the professional development of the company’s sales force, focused on building skills, knowledge and behavior to forge trusting, sustainable relationships with its convenience, impulse, forecourt and multiple retailer customers.

Scott Snell, vice president, customer (sales) at pladis UK&I said: “I’m immensely proud of the team and the collective achievement of being recognised as the first FMCG to be awarded by the APS.

“Through investment in the growth and development of our colleagues, such as the APS accreditation, our ambition is to deliver a World Class Customer Experience, giving our seasoned sales team the top qualifications and credibility to build long-lasting and impactful relationships with our customers.”

Graham Smith, APS head of corporate success, said: "Regardless of the industry sector, customers expect to be working with professional salespeople and it's great to have pladis as the first FMCG to take home the Investor in Sales award."

The Association of Professional Sales is the leading authority for salespeople, a not-for-profit organisation reinvesting in the sales profession to build standards, trust and education in UK businesses and is engaged with MPs to promote ethical, professional selling in the country.
