Groundbreaking expo launched
first show dedicated to the suppliers and buyers of the chocolate
and confectionery manufacturing industry, has been confirmed.
The date for Confectionery Manufacturing Expo (CM-expo), Europe's first show dedicated to the suppliers and buyers of the chocolate and confectionery manufacturing industry, has been confirmed. The event will be held from 27 to 29 April in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The growing list of exhibitors includes Alcan Packaging, Barry Callebaut, and UCB. Industry bodies such as the International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO) have also given their backing to the event, which is the first of its kind in Europe.
"A closely targeted event like CM-expo will be a highly effective platform for suppliers of cocoa based ingredients and processing equipment to meet and discuss business with a large range of confectionery manufacturers," said Dr Jan Vingerhoets, ICCO officer-in-charge.
The show's advisory board includes experts from companies such as Cadbury Schweppes, Kraft foods and Wrigley. The board is responsible for ensuring that the conference covers the needs of the confectionery industry.
"We are delighted to be on the advisory board," said Ngawang Lobsang, global procurement director for Cadbury Schweppes. It gives us the chance to really specify our needs, thereby making CM-expo specific and relevant."
