United Biscuits Southern Europe has installed two new ROBAG
packaging systems from TNA at its Galletas Artiach facility in
Orozko, Spain.

The ROBAG 2Ci 320 RDJ Integrated Packaging Systems with TNA 414-SNX integrated multihead weighers beat offcompetition from rival products because of their reliability and versatility, according to TNA.

Galletas Artiach accounts for 25.5 per cent of the total Spanish market for snacking biscuits, with eight of the 15 leading Spansh biscuit brands produced by the company. Well known brands such as Artinata, Filipinos, Digestive, Chiquilín, Princesa, Cookies and Surtido are produced at the Orozko site; which produces up to 25,000 tons of biscuits every year.

TNA said that it had been able to offer UB major benefits in terms of flexibility, ease of operation and value with its ROBAG system. The primary application of the newly installed system is to bag 50 gram packs of mini chocolate chip cookies at 130 BPM, with reject and waste levels of below 1 per cent.

The same machines are also required to produce three 30 gram bags in a string and a gussetted 200 gram bag for a cartoned application at up to 90 BPM.

The ROBAG system is capable of packing up to 200 BPM with a reject rate of well under 1 per cent. The same model will pack a wide range of products and bag sizes from 55mm flat bag width to 320mm flat bag width - a flexibility and versatility which TNA claims gives it a competitive edge in today's increasingly competitive marketplace.
