US based packaging firm Michelman is set to unveil a raft of
bake-in coating solutions for the bakery industry at trade fairs
this year.

Produced specifically for the bakery market, the coatings are intended to protect packaging while the product is baked in its wrapping, enhancing its appearance and quality. VaporCoat is designed for bakery display packaging and safeguards the product against pollutants such as oil and grease, thereby reducing waste and unsightly product presentation. The coating can be used for pastries, doughnuts, muffins, croissants, frosted cakes and breads. MichemCoat 50AFN is also designed for bake-in paper packaging and again protects the bakery item from oil or grease stains. It is used in the production of cakes and cookies. In addition, the company provides options for non bake-in packaging - rendering it more aesthetically pleasing and reliable. The ColorCoat coating forms a barrier for cake circles under sheet and layer cakes. Its protective coating is available in a range of colours including metallic options. Michelman, who produces inks and coatings for the food packaging market, is due to present these baking solutions at the European Coatings Show next month. The trade fair event will take place in Nürnberg, Germany from May 8-10.
