Mars aims to turn chocolate bar wrappers into new products

A partnership with a leading upcycling company will enable the reuse of both surplus and used packaging from food, drink, gum and confectionery products, claims confectionery giant, Mars

The manufacturer said it has teamed up with TerraCycle in a move to meet its target on packaging waste reduction of three per cent annually, and it added that it will sponsor wrapper collection bridages as part of the initiative.

The packaging from brands like Snickers, Twix and Starburst will be upcycled into products like mobile phone holders, laptop sleeves and messenger bags, claims Mars.
