Ganeden eyes chocolate market for its probiotics
Ganeden Biotech has teamed up with Italian firm Agostoni Chocolate for the launch of Chocolate Plus Private Label, combining the GanedenBC30 probiotic with premium Italian dark chocolate.
The products – available as 70 percent for a high cocoa content or 60 percent for a softer flavor profile – are formulated with either the GanedenBC30 strain alone, or with GanedenBC30 plus toasted flax seed, said the companies.
"Consumers are increasingly demanding both premium quality chocolate and the health benefits inherent to probiotics," said Andrew Lefkowitz, president and CEO of Ganeden Biotech. "Since this product is the best of both worlds, retailers can position it as an affordable luxury."
