UK retailer recalls chocolate over metal contamination fears
UK retailer Morrisons has initiated a recall of its own-brand Whole Nut Milk Chocolate over fears that it may be contaminated with small pieces of metal.

Whole Nut Milk Chocolate bars (200g) with the best before date of 16 June 2012 have been recalled as part of the company’s efforts.

The retailer took the decision to recall the product after customer complaints of contamination, Morrisons’ news manager James French told FoodQualityNews.com.

The company is continuing to investigate the cause of the contamination.

There have been no reports of injury in relation to the recalled product, French added.

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a Product Recall Information Notice in relation to the tainted product. No other Morrisons products are known to have been affected, the FSA alert added.
