  • The Association of Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery Industries of Europe (Caobisco) has signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement to contribute to elminiating the worst forms of child labor in hazelnut growing in Turkey. Caobsico member Ferrero is one of the world’s largest hazelnut users.
  • Kraft Foods snacks spin-off Mondelez International has appointed a new managing director for Denmark. Sara Nordsten Ahnve, who has been working for the firm since 1999, comes from a position as Nordic Head of logistics and customer service to replace Anders Kjekstad, who is taking up another role at the company.
  • Barry Callebaut and Olam have been recognized by Rainforest Alliance for their cocoa sustainability efforts. Both bagged ‘Sustainable Standard-Setter’ awards at the Rainforest Alliance 2013 Annual Gala on May 15, 2013 in New York.
