As the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) welcomed a broad range of stakeholders to its Italian HQ today to debate data and process transparency, the food industry asked at what point openness brakes innovation and competitive advantage?

“Our concern is that it is going too far in terms of making information available to competitors,” said Euros Jones, director of regulatory affairs at the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA).

Jones gave a presentation on behalf of the ECPA and other food industry groups including the largest in Europe, Food and Drink Europe (FDE).
