United Biscuits confirms loss of 76 jobs
United Biscuits has confirmed the loss of 76 jobs, as part of a restructuring that would create “a more streamlined, competitive and focused company”, it said.
After completing the formal collective consultation process, United Biscuits confirmed that 40 roles would be lost at its UK head office.
Sweet branded assortments
A further 36 operator roles have been lost at its Wigston factory in Leicestershire. The firm said the redundancies followed a cost review, conducted after “volume reductions in sweet branded assortments over the past few years”.
United Biscuits added that the job cuts would realign labour utilisation and resources with the reduction in volume.
