The greetings card retailer’s Cocoa Paradise range comprises 12 chocolate bars (100g) using cocoa from around the world such as Venezuela, Peru Madagascar, and Ecuador.
The luxury chocolate brand - in milk, dark and white - marks Clintons’ entry into chocolate.
‘Thriving’ chocolate market
The company said in a release it was “aiming to capitalize on the thriving [global] chocolate industry, which is expected to continue growing at an annual rate close to 5% until 2020”.
The company said the move showed its commitment to expanding its confectionery range.
The retailer already sells own-label sugar confectionery under its sweet shop concept such as marshmallow lollipops and licorice.
It also stocks third-party gifting chocolates from brands such as Lindt, Thorntons and Ferrero Rocher.
A Cocoa Paradise bar is priced at £3 ($3.73) when purchased individually and £1.99 ($2.48) when purchased with a card.
The range will be available in Clintons’ 400 stores across the UK. The retailer says 30m people visit its stores each year.
