Starting Jan 21, 2018, three Mondelēz’s brands, Oreo, Ritz and Chips Ahoy!, will feature team USA-themed packaging, with Oreo cookies embossed with the team’s emblem for a limited time.
Mondelēz is also teaming up with alpine skier and two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, and snowboarder Chloe Kim, trying her first US Olympic run, as part of the sponsorship.
“With the anticipation of the Olympic winter games ramping up, we are thrilled to team up with two 2018 team USA hopefuls who may be representing our country in PyeongChang (South Korea),” Jason Levine, VP of marketing at Mondelēz, said.
Ligety and Kim will also share what Mondelēz called “can’t miss moments” about their friends and teammates sharing snacks on social media leading up to the games.
Mondelēz said the sponsorship will also be supported by TV, digital and social media content campaigns, as well as in-store recipe sampling.
