Mars Inc. has appointed Stefanie Straub to its leadership team from her role as vice president and general counsel of its confectionery division.

Straub - currently vice president and general counsel of Mars Wrigley Confectionery - will assume her new role on April 1, 2018.

According to the US candy maker, Straub joined Wrigley in 2001 and has worked at various locations across the world, including Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

After Mars acquired Wrigley in 2008, she moved to the US from Europe to lead the legal department for the company in the Americas.

Straub’s responsibilities later expanded into Mars’ chocolate business after she became VP and general counsel for Wrigley globally.

Grant Reid, CEO of Mars Inc., said in a statement: “Stefanie’s experience in multiple geographies in various roles demonstrates what is possible in building a career at Mars.

“This experience and her reputation for building strong teams make her a great addition to our leadership team,” he said.
