Firm expands its facility near Leeds in Yorkshire to meet growing demand for cookie dough products.

Pecan Delux Candy celebrated the opening of its new factory launch in Yorkshire with an event attended by CEOs, buyers and NPD technologists from Australia, Scandinavia, Belgium, France and Russia.

The company was established in the UK in 1999 as a fully owned UK subsidiary of US based Pecan Deluxe Candy Company, a family owned business founded in 1950.

In conjunction with its sister facilities in the US and Thailand, the UK based ingredients specialist and food tailor now supplies all of Europe, the Middle and Far East and APAC (Australia-Pacific) regions – not to mention the US - with its traditionally made solutions including cookie dough, flavoured fudges, moulded chocolate shapes, sauces, cake and biscuit pieces and praline nuts.

The launch event celebrated the culmination of the company’s £3m ($3.78m) investment in a significant factory expansion, including the installation of new frozen storage units and an additional cold extrusion line to help meet growing demand for its flagship cookie dough products.

Pecan Delux Candy also welcomed Lerssak Boonsongsup, chief supply officer for Minor Food Group based in Pecan’s APAC headquarters, representing the burgeoning markets in the Far East and Australia.

Jenny Baillie, the firm’s business development manager said: “We were delighted to welcome guests who made the effort to travel such long distances for our launch event; it’s a credit to our team who have developed such good relationships with our customer base over many years of association. We’re very proud of our company’s ongoing development and of the extended facilities which will underpin future growth and innovation, and we’d like to thank everyone – customers, partners, suppliers and colleagues – for helping to make the launch event such a resounding success.”
