Taghleef Industries completes Biofilm acquisition

Taghleef Industries (Ti), which produces biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film, has completed its acquisition of Biofilm.

The company founded in in 1988 in Cartagena, Colombia, manufactures BOPP films for flexible packaging, labels and industrial applications, focusing on international sales to grow its business. 

It opened its second manufacturing facility in Altamira, Mexico, in 2004, which features multi-layer co-extrusion technology for clear barrier, ultra-high barrier and metallized films and it owns eight metallizing chambers at its production facilities.

By finalizing this transaction​, Taghleef will increase its annual BOPP production capacity to more than 500,000 tons.   

It will now add facilities in Cartagena, Colombia and Altamira, Mexico to its existing manufacturing sites in the US, Canada, Italy, Hungary, Spain, Egypt, U.A.E., Oman and Australia.

Taghleef Industries (Ti), based in Dubai, supplies specialty and high performance films for packaging, labels, industrial, and graphic arts applications for food products such as snacks, biscuits, ice-creams, fresh cut vegetables, coffee, and bakery.
