Ammeraal Beltech will exhibit at ProSweets for the first time, following its merger with Megadyne Group last year, now known as AMMEGA.

Partners Group, private investers announced the acquisition of Megadyne Group, power transmission belts, from Astorg and Ammeraal Beltech, conveyor belting, from Advent International for €2bn in July.

Conveyor belts

Megadyne, based in Turin, Italy, develops and manufactures polyurethane and rubber belts for use in power transmission and conveying systems.

Ammeraal, based in Alkmaar in the Netherlands, manufactures, distributes and maintains conveyor belts for a range of applications including food processing.

Giuseppe Allais, global food industry segment manager, Ammeraal Beltech, said its ‘One-Stop Belt Shop’  will now enjoy an even broader definition – thanks to the company’s recent merger with the Megadyne Group, which effectively creates a global belting champion spanning both lightweight conveyor belting and industrial power transmission belting.

Ammeraal Beltech’s first-time participation in ProSweets is a commitment to a continuing its focus on food conveyor belting, and an opportunity for confectioners and snack product manufacturers to see what we have on offer,” he said.

While the two companies retain their brand names and existing product ranges, they are united under a corporate name, AMMEGA, and are committed to new levels of belting innovation through combining their knowledge and expertise.

Chocolate tempering

Allais added the two companies offer a wide choice of application-specific belts that are keeping confectionery safely moving around the world including its non-stick, low-friction PTFE, silicone-coated belts, which works with temperatures between -70 C° and up to 260 C°.

Other products include; its soft-lip UltraScraper, which is metal detectable, to keep belts clean; the Ropanyl cooling tunnel processing belts (for chocolate tempering) and the recently-introduced Soliflex PRO mini.

The company can also design and manufacture custom-made modular food-grade belts.

They can convey your smallest, lightest chocolates as well as your heaviest trays; and our uni NTB nano transfer belt, with its self-tracking sprocket drive and its 3mm knife edge radius, is ideal for your packaging line, for the most delicate products,” said Allais.

ProSweets sweets and snacks trade fair will be held in Cologne, Germany, from January 27-30, 2019.
