The chocolatier has also won the 2020 USA Today 10 Best Readers' Choice travel awards for Best Food Subscription Box.

Austin-based Delysia Chocolatier has been named a Best Chocolatier in the Americas with the highest honor, Six Star Award: Grand Master by the International Chocolate Salon Awards for the 2020 Best Chocolatiers and Confectioners in America.

The International Chocolate Salon is one of the premier international bodies honoring artisanal and premium chocolate confectioners. Delysia Chocolatier has been recognized as a Grand Master Chocolatier for five years running.

It is also ranked second in the Americas and is one of only eight chocolatiers in the western hemisphere to be awarded the highest ranking Six Star title of Grand Master.

Fine chocolate artisans

To qualify for the title, Delysia Chocolatier received the most votes from the panel of judges, which included national and regional magazines, newspaper and expert chefs who evaluated hundreds of fine chocolate artisans and large-scale producers in the Americas.

“We are incredibly honored to receive these prestigious accolades highlighting our ability to continually create innovative flavors with artisan chocolate,” said chef-owner and chocolatier, Nicole Patel. “In the past year, we have continued to expand our horizons with our new INDULGE subscription service, introduced several new flavors through our SAVOR: Chocolate Tasting Experience, and handcrafted the first artisanal chocolate truffles using ruby chocolate in the United States. Being recognized as a Grand Master Chocolatier again, and as a USA Today 10Best is strong validation that our pursuit of culinary creativity and excellence is well worth the effort.”

While its Culinary Center is temporarily closed to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, Delysia Chocolatier is helping people in need by contributing 10% of the proceeds of its online sales to the Central Texas Food Bank through April.
